From their website:
Wagwear offers puppy chic in the latest colors with fully-functional details such as reflective tape in the leashes and coats, materials such as oil cloth, canvas and climbing rope, and overall classic design one might find on the beaches of Martha’s Vineyard or the streets of Tribeca the same weekend.
Interview with Wagwear:
Give us a concise description of your business.
-Wagwear is a full-service dog apparel shop.
What inspired you to open your business?
-When I first got my pups (twin shiba inus Lucy & Tonto) 15 years ago, I noticed a lack of tasteful, modern, intelligent brands for dogs, which I felt reflected their distinct personalities. So I created wagwear, a line of classic, quality apparel for dogs — that’s both fun and functional.
What makes your business different than others of its type?
-Wagwear is the only store of its kind. We make all of our own products here in New York and can custom tailor any garment to your dog’s special shape or size.
Any local dog activities you recommend?
-The trails in Inwood park are a great way to take your dog for a hike without leaving the island of Manhattan.
